Dementia cognitive test study

About this research

Interpreting the performance of people with dementia is a key factor in the diagnosis and interpretation of dementia. This study aims to develop new, highly sensitive tests for memory, language, and thinking abilities to better diagnose and interpret dementia

Who can participate

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • are aged 50 years or older.
  • speak English as your first language.
  • are reasonably good health with no previous history of significant brain diseases.
  • are available for three hours (maximum) to attend an appointment at the Queensland Brain Institute at UQ (St Lucia campus).

What's involved

You will be asked to complete a series of pen-and-paper and computerised tests that are designed to assess mental abilities, such as memory, thinking, language and how our eyes scan the world.

Benefits of participating

Participants will help improve the early detection and accurate diagnosis for different types of dementia.
