How relationships shape who we are

About this research

In this study, we are interested in investigating how close relationships can impact our thinking, emotions and sense of self. We aim to understand more about the factors that help people adjust to significant changes in their close relationships over time.

Who can participate

You're eligible to participate in the study if you:

  • have lost a parent/main caregiver at the age of 12 years or older
  • have not been bereaved of a main caregiver within the last 3 months
  • are aged 18-29 years old
  • are a native English speaker or have equivalent proficiency in written and spoken English
  • have no history of photosensitive disorders.

What's involved

You'll be asked to:

  • complete an online computer task where you'll evaluate words in relation to yourself and another person
  • complete online questionnaires about your recent moods, functioning and well-being.
