Measuring real-world social cognition from adolescence to young adulthood
About this research
This study aims to better understand how teenagers and young adults understand and respond to social and emotional information, such as recognising facial expressions and feeling empathy for others.
Who can participate
You're eligible to participate in this study if you are:
- aged 25–35 years
- a native English-speaker
- not currently experiencing neurodevelopmental (e.g., autism), neurological (e.g., epilepsy), or psychiatric (e.g., bipolar) disorders.
What's involved
As part of the study, you will:

attend a 2.5-hour testing session at The University of Queensland St Lucia campus, involving a range of computer-based tasks and questionnaires.
One of the tasks will involve working with a member of the research team to move different objects around a set of shelves.
During the study, we may ask you to wear:

a fitness band that measures your physiological responses during the session

a pair of glasses that will track where you are looking.
Benefits of participating
Participants will be reimbursed with a $50 EFTPOS gift card upon completion of the 2.5 hour session.
