Swallow meds: Teaching healthy adults with pill swallowing aversion to safely take solid dose medicines

About this research 

About 30% of healthy adults have pill swallowing aversion. This study seeks to use what we know about ‘why’ tablets are hard to swallow to teach a new method of successful pill swallowing. 

Who can participate 

You're eligible to participate in this study if you: 

  • are aged 18 or older 
  • have a self-identified aversion to tablet swallowing 
  • are available to attend in-person at the UQ Dutton Park Campus.

What's involved 

You’ll be asked to: 

  • complete 3 x 10-minute surveys  
  • attend one 45-minute, in-person training session lasting at the UQ Dutton Park campus.
