Wellbeing and support needs of siblings of children with chronic health conditions
About this research
Siblings of children with chronic health conditions can experience many different challenges in their day-to-day lives.
This study aims to assess the wellbeing and support needs of siblings of children with chronic health conditions in Australia.
Who can participate
You're eligible to participate if you:
- have a child with one or more of the following chronic health conditions:
- asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), eczema (atopic dermatitis), chronic sinusitis, migraine, otitis media, chronic bronchitis/bronchial disease, type 1 diabetes, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)/ chronic rheumatic disease, or a cardiac (heart) condition.
- have another child (the "sibling") aged 5–12 years who does not have any chronic health conditions.
What's involved
The study involves:
- you (the parent) completing a 20-minute online survey
- the sibling completing a 5-minute online survey
- families may choose to only complete the parent survey if the sibling is unable or unwilling to take part.
